The FSB of the Russian Federation claims that the former Ukrainian footballer Vasyl Vasylenko, who was sentenced to 12 years in prison, accused of espionage, tried to transfer components for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian agency TASS.
“Sentenced to 12 years in prison on charges of espionage, the Ukrainian ex-footballer Vasily Vasilenko intended to transfer components for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to the Ukroboronprom concern”,- the message says.
It is noted that at the end of 2019 Vasylenko V.I. was detained by FSB officers while receiving a batch of components for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the interests of the state concern Ukroboronprom. In addition, it is argued that Vasylenko deliberately collected secret military information regarding the Russian Armed Forces, the transfer of which abroad could harm the security of the state.
