The Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea sent to the court an indictment against a citizen of Ukraine who assisted Russian law enforcement officers in carrying out illegal searches and detentions of citizens in the so-called Hizb ut Tahrir cases. He is accused of high treason. This was reported by the press service of the department.
“Using his official position, the accused, starting from 26.03.2019, assisted the occupation law enforcement officers, namely, the so-called Service for the Protection of the Constitutional System of the Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea in organizing a number of illegal searches in the households of representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, who were allegedly participation in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir. The accused provided the occupation law enforcement officers with vehicles during at least 9 searches, as well as for escorting illegally detained persons in the pre-trial detention center and the so-called Directorate of the FSB of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea,” the message said.
It is noted that this citizen of Ukraine is accused of committing high treason by providing a foreign state with assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine, that is, under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
