On Tuesday, March 23, despite the spread of coronavirus infection, a tactical exercise with the Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Formation started in the occupied Crimea, during which more than 500 military personnel and 40 units of military and special equipment will be involved. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
“On the eve of the regiment's units were transferred from Novorossiysk to the Crimean peninsula by rail. As part of the exercise, the units will work out the preparation and conduct of hostilities by an anti-aircraft missile regiment to cover units and subunits of the formation from attacks by air attack weapons of a simulated enemy during air assault operations and anti-amphibious defense on the sea coast in conditions of active influence and use of electronic warfare and unmanned aerial vehicles of the enemy”,- the message said.
We remind that military exercises, propaganda of military service and conscription into the ranks of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are regularly held in the occupied Crimea. The Russian military exercises are destroying the ecosystem of the peninsula and are a flagrant violation of international law.
Earlier, NATO in its statement on Crimea condemned Russia's ongoing large-scale military build-up in Crimea and expressed concern over Russia's efforts and announced plans to further build up military power in the Black Sea region.
