Head of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, Head of the Department for Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Eskender Bariiev, in an interview with Crimea.Realities media agency said that the occupants continue to deliberately replace the population of the occupied Crimea, as even buyers from Russia are provided with favorable conditions for moving to the peninsula.

“Buyers from Russia are provided with favorable conditions for moving. At the same time, the Russian authorities are trying to squeeze out the population they dislike – primarily Crimean Tatars, ethnic Ukrainians, pro-Ukrainian citizens. According to the official data of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, more than 45 thousand Crimeans have become internally displaced. In addition, Russia is increasing its military contingent in Crimea – these are officers, soldiers, service personnel, who move to the peninsula with their families to populate the peninsula with those people who help to keep it by force. Plus security officials, civil servants and so on”,- he said.

Bariiev stressed that if the Ukrainian authorities carried out a large communication campaign regarding the illegality of the Russians moving to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, then the demand for real estate on the peninsula could significantly decrease.
