Political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage, has a slight degree of frostbite after being held in the cold without winter clothes for about an hour. Lawyer Nikolai Polozov reported this via his Facebook page.
“We discussed with him the consequences of the cruel and inhuman treatment of him by the administration of the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, when on February 12, during the sanitization of the cell, he was taken for a walk in without warm clothes, without winter shoes, only in slippers and kept at a temperature -14 for about an hour”,- the message said.
Polozov noted that Ivan Yatskin was examined by a doctor who said that he had a mild degree of frostbite, but did not prescribe any special treatment.
We remind that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
