On Thursday, March 4, British Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Neil Bush, during a meeting of the Organization’s Permanent Council, announced the non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea, and also stressed that the peninsula should remain at the center of attention on the international agenda.
“It is clear that Crimea must remain the focus of the international agenda and that Russia must remain accountable for its actions on the peninsula. Therefore, the UK welcomes the new International Crimean Platform. We support Ukraine’s initiative to bring the international community together to keep Crimea in the spotlight and support its return to Ukraine”,- the message said.
Great Britain reiterated that it does not and does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia. The country calls on Russia to abide in the strongest possible way with international law, OSCE principles and commitments and return Crimea to its rightful place under the control of the Ukrainian government.
