Russian court extended preventive measure for political prisoner Ivan Yatskin

February 11, 2021

On Thursday, February 11, the Moscow City Court extended the term of detention of political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage. He will remain in jail until April 16, 2021. Lawyer Nikolai Polozov reported this via his Facebook page.

“As it turned out later, the court hearing in relation to my client Ivan Yatskin to extend his term of detention took place without my participation, with the involvement of an appointed attorney. The Moscow City Court extended the term of Ivan Yatskin’s detention until April 16”,- the statement said.

We remind that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
