The defendant in the so-called Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case, Teymur Abdullaev, who had previously been seriously ill with coronavirus, is not being given medicines. The political prisoner has been without taking vital medicines for a month and a half. This is reported by the mother of the political prisoner Diliara Abdullaeva via her Facebook page.
“I sent medicines on December 8. As you know, my son was seriously ill with the coronavirus, which was officially confirmed by the tests, after which he needs to restore the body after the intoxication and receive general strengthening medicines and vitamins for the liver, which cannot be interrupted for such a long time. A conversation with my son reveals that he was not given medicine and that he often has a stuffy nose and a cough”,- the message said.
We remind that on October 12, 2016, the Russian security forces as a result of massive searches in the village. Strogonovka, Simferopol district, detained five representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people – Uzeir Abdullayev, Teymur Abdullayev, Rustem Ismailov, Emil Dzhemadenov and Ayder Saledinov. They were accused of participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which was banned in the Russian Federation. They are charged with Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("organizing the activities of a terrorist organization and participating in it").
On June 18, 2019, the North Caucasian District Military Court of the Russian Federation passed sentences to the defendants in the Simferopol "Hizb ut-Tahrir case." Teymur Abdullaev was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime colony with restriction of liberty for a period of 1 year and 6 months, Rustem Ismailov – to 14 years, Uzeir Abdullaev – to 13, Ayder Saledinov and Emil Dzhemadenov – to 12 years.
On December 24, 2019, the Supreme Court in Moscow reduced the terms of imprisonment for the defendants in the Simferopol Hizb ut-Tahrir case by 6 months.
