Occupants opened an administrative case on the wife of political prisoner Omerov

February 5, 2021

The invaders opened an administrative case against the wife of political prisoner Riza Omerov because of a solitary picket in support of her husband and father. The case was considered without the woman’s knowledge. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“The case of Sevilia about a solitary picket in support of her father and husband was considered the day before – the court dismissed it for lack of corpus delicti, but the police did not agree with the court decision and are going to appeal it to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea. The appeal was appointed on February 24 at 10 am. According to lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi, it is still unknown who and when drew up the administrative protocol against Sevilia”,- the statement said.

It is noted that on December 27, 2020, Russian security forces arrived at the woman's home and took explanations from her, but she did not know that the police were drawing up an administrative protocol.

Lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi believes that Sevilia's signatures were obtained fraudulently without clarifying the rights and obligations and, accordingly, the essence of what is happening.
