On Monday, December 28, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed the state enterprise Reintegration and Reconstruction to be responsible for the arrangement and maintenance of the checkpoints and adjacent territories. The checkpoints will be equipped with protection against small arms damage. The press service of the department reported about this.
“From the very beginning of the establishment of the checkpoints, each checkpoint lived its own life, because each checkpoint belonged to the management of various structures. Because of this, difficulties arose with their technical arrangement, creating conditions for people crossing the line of contact in Donetsk and Lugansk and the administrative border with Crimea. There is no single standard and elementary conditions for ensuring simple human needs. Actually, this has also caused fair recommendations and wishes from international partners, humanitarian organizations, human rights defenders dealing with the issues of the occupied territories of Ukraine. In the end, it's time to put things in order in this matter”,- Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov said.
It is noted that the regime and service zones of the checkpoints are equipped with temporary modular structures based on collapsible structures, with appropriate protection against damage by small arms.
