The so-called Head of the occupied Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said on the air of the Crimea24 TV channel that the solution to the situation with the shortage of water on the peninsula can only be desalination. But, according to him, not a single organization in Russia possesses and did not have such experience in building desalination plants.
“For Crimea, the situation is clear – first of all, it is desalination. This is the only way out. We studied all the archives and materials, for all the studies that came out, in the 19th and 20th centuries. I can say that no one has found effective solutions for more than 200 years. Rather, they were found during the Soviet Union – it was the North Crimean Canal”,- he said.
Aksenov noted that no organization in Russia possesses and did not possess such experience in the construction of desalination plants. He also stressed that the cost of water can be several times more expensive, but “it is better than if there will be no water at all.”
