UK welcomes UN General Assembly resolution on Crimea

The British Embassy in Ukraine supported the adoption of a strengthened and updated resolution on human rights in the occupied Crimea and called on the Russian Federation to release all illegally detained citizens of Ukraine. The press service of the department reported about this.

“The UK welcomes the UN General Assembly resolution on Crimea, which calls on Russia to immediately stop systemic violations of human rights, release all illegally detained citizens of Ukraine and provide unconditional access to Crimea for human rights observers”,- the statement said.

We remind that on December 16, the UN General Assembly adopted a strengthened resolution on the human rights situation in the occupied Crimea. 64 countries voted for the corresponding decision, 23 against.
