The defense of the owner of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR Lenur Islyamov, who was sentenced in absentia to 19 years in a maximum security colony, intends to file an appeal to the Third General Jurisdiction Court of Appeal. As the lawyer Nikolai Polozov noted via his Facebook page, the verdict of the so-called court is based on the tendentious testimony of a classified witness.
“According to the defense, during the preliminary and judicial investigation, Lenur Islyamov's involvement in sabotage and the creation of an armed formation was not proven. The court's verdict is based on the biased testimony of a secret witness, in addition, during the judicial investigation, a direct fact of falsification of evidence in the criminal case was revealed”,- the message says.
In addition, the so-called court satisfied the civil claims of a number of injured organizations in the amount of over 50 million rubles.
