In the occupied Crimea, it is planned to complete the restoration of the Khan’s Palace by 2022. In addition, the Russian government plans to allocate almost 2 billion rubles for this. This was reported by the Russian media agency TASS.

“The total amount of funds envisaged for the implementation of the complex of restoration work is 1.979 billion rubles. The completion date for restoration work is 2022”,- the statement says.

We remind that during 2018, at the initiative of the occupation authorities of Crimea, the so-called restoration work of the Khan's Palace in Bakhchisaray continued, which threaten the historical and cultural authenticity of the Crimean Tatar architecture monument. Crimean Tatar activists and human rights defenders have repeatedly stated that under the guise of restoration work the occupants are destroying the complex. Thus, as a result of the so-called works, elements of the cultural heritage were destroyed – wooden roof structures, floor beams, cross beams, wall paintings, stained glass windows and much more. In March 2018, the so-called Zheleznodorizhniy District Court of Simferopol refused to accept a lawsuit demanding to stop the restoration of the Khan's palace. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the actions of the Russian authorities on the peninsula pose a threat to the cultural heritage of the Crimean Tatar people.
