Delegate of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people Rustem Umerov, during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, announced the initiative to create an Interdepartmental Coordination Center for the release of political prisoners.
Rustem Umerov noted that it is already the seventh year of the occupation, the persecution of Ukrainian citizens continues on political, ethnic and religious grounds. He stressed that during this time 111 Ukrainian citizens were illegally deprived of their freedom, and in total 130 Ukrainians were persecuted by the aggressor state.
“Despite this, we still do not have a single body that would be entrusted with coordinating the work on the release of our citizens. In this regard, I propose to create an Interdepartmental Coordination Center, whose task will be to release the citizens of Ukraine who were imprisoned as a result of an armed aggression”,- the MP said.
The delegate of the Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people stressed that Ukraine should fight for each of its citizens.
