Four countries joined the EU decision to extend sanctions against Russia

Montenegro, Albania, Norway and Liechtenstein have confirmed their adherence to the decision of the EU Council on the extension of sanctions against the Russian Federation for the illegal occupation of Crimea until March 15, 2021. This was announced in a statement by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

“The candidate countries Montenegro and Albania, Liechtenstein and Norway, which are members of the European Free Trade Association and the European Economic Area, have joined this Decision (sanctions against Russia) of the EU Council. They will ensure that their public policies are in line with this Council Decision. The European Union takes note of such commitments and welcomes them”,- the message said.

We remind that on September 10, the EU Committee of Permanent Representatives extended individual sanctions for six months against 175 people and 44 organizations involved in undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
