A small part of the parcel was handed over to political prisoner Yatskin – lawyer

November 23, 2020

Political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage, was given only less than three kg of the total weight of the parcel of 70 kg. Lawyer Nikolay Polozov reported about it via his Facebook page.

“Ivan said that over the past two days, doctors did not visit him. Once again, the investigation raised the question of the need to examine Ivan Yatskin by an ophthalmologist. In the glasses that he has, he does not see well. And to order new ones, you need to understand how much vision has deteriorated”,- the message says.

Yatskin stressed that of the parcel sent to him by his daughter Kateryna Yatskina, only a small part was handed over to him – less than three kg of the total weight of the parcel of 70 kg.

“They did not pass 20 cans of stew, chocolate and many other things. They only gave him coffee and cookies. They explained that the canned stew was not allowed, they didn’t even explain the rest. They told Ivan Yatskin that the rest of the products would be sent for recycling”,- the lawyer noted.

We remind that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
