The House of Representatives of the US Congress adopted a bill against Russia’s participation in the meetings of the Big Seven (G7) and the restoration of the G8 format with the participation of the Russian Federation due to the occupation of Crimea. It is reported by the Voice of America media agency.
The document refers to a ban on the use of federal funds by the Washington administration in order to “support or facilitate Russia's participation in the G7 meetings and the restoration of the G8 with the participation of the Russian Federation.”
This measure should remain in force until the RF:
– stops any interference in elections in the United States or in other G7 countries, NATO and EU states;
– withdraws its troops and weapons from Transnistria;
– stops the illegal occupation of Crimea, as well as South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
