We must forget about the opening of the North Crimean Canal – Konstantinov

November 11, 2020

The so-called Speaker of the parliament of the occupied Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that Crimeans should forget about opening the North Crimean Canal until “there is no adequate government in Ukraine.” Konstantinov claims that Ukraine may even “poison the water.” The press service of the so-called parliament reported about this.

“The opening of the North Crimean Canal is unrealistic in principle. I will explain the reason. Firstly, the situation with Ukraine is so complicated and difficult that today it is not possible. There is not even anyone to discuss this issue with! Assuming hypothetically that this task will be solved then they will change the price of water three times a day. The second important issue is the quality of this water. It is no longer possible to open the floodgates and let it into Crimea. Colossal funds are needed to restore the canal. You cannot just let the water in, as everything will be soaked into the ground”,- he said.

The occupant claims that Ukraine can “poison this water, and they will say that we did it ourselves.” He said that until there is adequate government in Ukraine, this issue should be forgotten.
