On Tuesday, November 10, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament approved the EP’s report on Ukraine, which calls on the Russian Federation for the immediate release of all political and military prisoners. This was reported by the Delegation of Ukraine to the EU.
It is noted that among the important signals of European parliamentarians are:
Strong condemnation by the EU of the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine, including the illegal annexation of Crimea;
Maintaining support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, continuing the policy of non-recognition and preserving, in this context, of all the restrictive measures against Russia until Ukraine's full restoration of territorial integrity;
Condemnation of the militarization of Crimea;
Appeal to the Russian Federation for the immediate release of all political and military prisoners;
Appeal to the EU regarding the appointment of an EU Special Representative for Crimea and Donbass, the need to start the format of negotiations on the de-occupation of Crimea;
EU support for the idea of launching an International Crimean Platform to coordinate and systematize international efforts to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine;
Condemnation of violations by the occupying Russian authorities of human rights in eastern Ukraine and Crimea.
“We are grateful to the MEPs for the continued support of Ukraine on the path of reforms and in the fight against Russian aggression. We continue to work further together with our European partners to implement the democratic transformations expected by society in our state in all spheres”,- the department added.
