Under the guise of fighting terrorism, the occupants are strengthening control over the population in Crimea – Bariiev

The Head of the Board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Eskender Bariiev, said that the authorities of the occupied Crimea are forcing providers to increase the cost of services in order to strengthen control over the population of the peninsula.

“Under the guise of fighting terrorism, the occupants are strengthening control over the population in Crimea. In order to strengthen control over the population and content on social networks, the occupation authorities of Crimea are forcing providers to buy expensive equipment and increase the cost of services”,- Bariiev said.

The Head of the Board of the CTRC explained that the occupants are guided by two laws of the Russian Federation “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Countering Terrorism and certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation regarding the establishment of additional measures to counter terrorism and ensure public safety” and “On Amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation in terms of establishing additional measures to counter terrorism and ensure public safety.”
