The US Embassy in Ukraine condemned the decision of the occupants to bring lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi to justice “for violating the rules of court sessions.” The ministry stressed that human rights lawyers in Crimea should be able to do their most important job.
“Defense lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi's success exposing the injustices of so-called "trials" in occupied Crimea has led Russia to rubber-stamp a biased ruling by a Crimean “court” that could disbar her. Human rights lawyers in Crimea must be allowed to do their vital work. #CrimeaIsUkraine”,- the Facebook post said.
We remind you that on October 23, the Southern District Military Court ruled to bring lawyer Lilia Hemedzhi to responsibility “for violating the rules of court sessions.”
