Political prisoner Ivan Yatskin worried about chest pains – lawyer

October 30, 2020

Political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage, is worried about chest pains, as he fell in his cell and hit hard. The man had an x-ray taken, but no results were reported. Lawyer Nikolai Polozov reported this via his Facebook page.

“We managed to talk about the conditions of detention. Ivan is still alone in the cell. There is a TV set, but it does not work without an antenna, only the radio, from there he learns the news. He is very interested in the negotiation process about the exchange. Unfortunately, it is impossible to give him positive news”,- the message said.

The lawyer noted that Ivan Yatskin complained of chest pain, since about a month ago he fell in the cell and hit hard. He was taken to the emergency room to have his x-ray taken, but the results of the examination were not reported.

“Now there seems to be some progress in medicine. I hope Ivan will still be examined by doctors. In any case, next week we have to meet with him again, and he will report whether there was an examination”,- he added.

We remind that at the beginning of December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained Ivan Yatskin, a resident of Simferopol, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
