October 27, 2020

On Tuesday, October 27, an administrative case was opened in the occupied Crimea against the imam of the mosque, Ablyakim Haliiev, for conducting illegal missionary activities. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.

“The prosecutor's office of the city of Sudak, in conjunction with the Central Election Commission of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the department of the FSB of Russia, conducted an audit of compliance with the legal requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience and religious associations on the territory of a mosque in the village of Dachne. As a result, administrative proceedings were opened against Imam Abliakim Haliiev under Article 5.26 Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (carrying out missionary activities in violation of the requirements of the legislation on freedom of conscience, freedom of religion and on religious associations)”,- the message said.

The first so-called court session has already taken place. But the defendant and the defense attorney intend to prove their innocence, since there is a bright political implication in this case.
