Nonsense, bullshit – Putin on sanctions due to the annexation of Crimea

On Thursday, October 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club, commented on the imposition of sanctions against Russia due to thethe annexation of Crimea, calling these actions “nonsense.” This was reported by the Russian media agency TASS.

“They are imposing sanctions against Crimeans: if this is an annexation, then they are victims? Why are sanctions imposed against them? And if they voted, then this is a manifestation of democracy. How can you punish for democracy? Nonsense, bullshit. But this is happening”,- he said.

In addition, Putin reacted to the statement of the Turkish president about the non-recognition of Crimea as Russian, stressing that he was “not interested” in the country's position.
