At a committee meeting, the Ukrainian mission to the UN called on Russia to immediately release all political prisoners, including Crimean Tatars. This was reported by the press service of the department on Twitter.
“Ukraine has called for the immediate release of all citizens of Ukraine illegally detained by Russia, in particular the Crimean Tatars, who are civilian journalists”,- the statement said.
In addition, the Ukrainian mission stated that Russia is militarizing civilian space objects seized in the occupied Crimea.
“The transfer of NIP-16 near Yevpatoria under the control of the Russian Ministry of Defense testifies to the strengthening of the militaristic component in Russia's policy both in Crimea and in outer space”,- the Ukrainian Mission to the UN added.
