The Verkhovna Rada Human Rights Commissioner Liudmyla Denisova said that the health condition of political prisoners Dzhemil Gafarov and Enver Omerov was deteriorating, but the occupants ignored their requests for medical assistance. She reported this via her Facebook page.
“According to relatives, Dzhemil Gafarov, a disabled person of group II, complains of a sharp exacerbation of chronic diseases. He is worried about constant leg cramps, severe pain in the heart and sudden blood pressure surges. Enver Omerov is concerned about severe pains of the musculoskeletal system, which do not allow him to walk freely”,- the message said.
Denisova noted that political prisoners are kept in overcrowded cells, in particular, Dzhemil Gafarov was placed in a cell with 10 more persons, but there are only 6 beds there.
“I appeal to Human Rights Ombudswoman Tatiana Moskalkova to urgently ensure the implementation of the rights of Ukrainian citizens and ensure the provision of the necessary qualified medical care, as well as bring the conditions of detention in line with the Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners”,- she said.
