Political prisoner Serhii Filatov, who was sentenced to 6 years in a general regime colony with a probation for a period of 1 year for organizing and participating in the Jehovah’s Witnesses cell, was transferred to colony # 2 in the city of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Region.
We remind that in November 2018, in Dzhankoy, FSB officers conducted mass searches of people suspected of participating in the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organization banned in Russia. The head of the local regional group of Witnesses “Syvash”, Serhii Filatov, was detained. He is suspected of organizing an extremist community. The Syvash group itself was liquidated back in 2017. On March 5, the so-called Dzhankoy District Court sentenced Serhii Filatov to 6 years in a general regime colony with restriction of liberty for a period of 1 year for organizing and participating in the Jehovah's Witnesses cell.
