Lawyer Nikolai Polozov joined the so-called case against the owner of the Crimean Tatar ATR TV channel Lenur Islyamov as a defender. As he reported via his Facebook page, the so-called case is currently pending at the so-called Supreme Court of the occupied Crimea at the trial stage.
The lawyer noted that the Russian authorities are accusing Lenur Islyamov of a number of crimes, including:
– the creation of an armed formation not provided for by federal law (Part 1 of article 208 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);
– committing a sabotage by an organized group causing significant property damage (Clauses A, B, Part 2 of Article 281 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation);
– six episodes of public calls for the implementation of actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation using the mass media (Part 2 of Article 280.1, Part 2 of article 280.1, Part 2 of Article 280.1, Part 2 of Article 280.1, Part 2 of Article 280.1, Part 2 of Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
“I think it's not a secret for anyone that it is extremely difficult to achieve justice in politically motivated cases, especially in the occupied Crimea. Nevertheless, criminal proceedings in Russian jurisdiction should be considered as an important preparatory stage aimed at collecting the necessary information and fixing all violations , which can be admitted by investigators, prosecutors and the court”,- said Polozov.
