The European Union condemned the illegal conscription of residents of the occupied Crimea into the Russian army as part of an ongoing effort to undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The corresponding statement was published via the website of the European Union.
“This is part of the ongoing efforts to undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine with further attempts to forcibly integrate the illegally annexed Crimea and Sevastopol into Russia. This is a violation of international humanitarian law. The Russian Federation is bound by international law and is obliged to ensure the protection of human rights on the peninsula”,- the message said.
The European Union, once again stressed that it does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea, and also demands an end to the violation of international law by Russia.
