High alert mode introduced in Sevastopol due to water shortage

October 14, 2020

The occupation authorities in Sevastopol decided to introduce a high alert mode due to water shortages. As noted, the water reserves will last for 81 days, if there is no precipitation in the near future. The press service of the so-called government of the city reported about this.

“At the moment, the reserves of the Chornorichenske reservoir are 16.8 million cubic meters of water. If 7 million cubic meters is an emergency reserve, below which it is impossible to go down, given that serious precipitation is not expected by the end of the year, there will be enough water for 81 days”,- said the acting Deputy Mayor Vladimir Bazarov.

It is noted that gardening associations will switch to the winter mode of water supply, but restrictions on the supply of water to houses are not introduced.

In addition, the invaders will transfer water from the Kadykovske quarry and from Gasforta. And until March 1, 2021, the Belbek water intake will be built.
