Poland Raises the Issue About the Necessity of Crimea’s De-occupation at all Important International Platforms

October 14, 2020

In a joint interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Polish President Duda said that Poland continues to raise the need to de-occupy Donbas and Crimea on the international platforms: such a long-term frozen conflict cannot be allowed in the center of Europe.

“I want to thank Mr. President Duda. At all political platforms and important geopolitical meetings, the Republic of Poland always supports us, even though it is not a member of the Normandy Format, where the Donbas war issue is being discussed. I am grateful to the President and the entire Polish people for their permanent position on the non-recognition of Crimea’s annexation. This is very important to us, " Zelensky said.

Politicians discussed the creation of the Crimean platform.  The President of Poland noted that with the beginning of the Russian occupation of Donbas and Crimea, there was a profound violation of international law.  And the war will end when Ukraine regains full control over its legal borders in the Crimean, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.

"We must firmly put forward tough questions. The aggression must end, and Ukraine's internationally recognized state borders must be returned," Duda added.
