The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, commenting on the third report of the UN Secretary General on the situation in the occupied Crimea, called on the international community to respond to violations of human rights on the peninsula and increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation. The press service of the department reported.
“Russia continues to grossly violate international law, using, under the pretext of “combating extremism and terrorism,” military courts on Russian territory to unlawfully convict citizens of Ukraine and violate their right to consular access as a result of the forced change of citizenship”,- the message said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to respond to the continuing violations by the occupying state of international law in the occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular by increasing political, diplomatic and sanctions pressure.
