On Monday, October 5, the so-called court of the occupied Crimea interrogated a ballistic expert in the so-called case against the chairman of the Sudak Regional Mejlis Ilver Ametov, who, during a search in September 2019, had his ancient weapons seized from his home museum. This was reported by the Crimean Solidarity public association.
“In principle, an excellent interrogation. The expert spoke very objectively, normally. He explained that he could not give an answer – is it possible to use this confiscated museum item from my client as a firearm. That is, is it intended or not intended to hit a living target? In this regard, a break was announced in the court session until October 21 and an expert who conducted the initial examination was summoned to the court session”,- the lawyer said.
We remind that on June 29, in the occupied Crimea, a so-called trial began against the chairman of the Sudak Regional Mejlis Ilver Ametov, from whom, during a search in September 2019, ancient exhibits of weapons were confiscated from his home museum. He has been collecting artifacts for over 20 years. Now the Crimean Tatar is accused under the first part of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of firearms, their main parts, ammunition).
