On Tuesday, September 22, Vice President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, during a briefing in Kyiv, once again stated that the EU fully supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea.
“The EU fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. We do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. President Zelensky has done much to expand dialogue and diplomacy. We call on Russia to do the same”,- he said.
Borrell also met with President Volodymyr Zelensky as part of his visit to Ukraine. The interlocutors discussed the issue of creating a negotiating platform for the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula.
“For us, the key issue is to create a permanent platform on which humanitarian issues, human rights issues, the issue of Ukrainians on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, in general, the issue of returning our occupied territory are raised”,- the head of state said.
