46 political prisoners of Crimea were released since the beginning of the occupation of the peninsula – CTRC

After the occupation of Crimea, the Russian Federation, unlawfully using its legislation for political purposes, launched massive repressions on the peninsula against Crimean Tatars and pro-Ukrainian activists. Detentions and arrests of people have become a regular practice. The number of people imprisoned in politically motivated cases continues to grow every year. According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, over the entire period of the occupation, the number of political prisoners and persecuted individuals reached 208 people. After the release of civil journalist Nariman Memediminov, the number of released political prisoners in Crimea reached 46, of which 31 are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. In parallel with this, 28 more political prisoners have limited rights outside places of detention.

According to the Crimean Tatar Resource Center, since the beginning of the occupation of Crimea, 46 political prisoners have been released, 31 of them are the representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people:
