U.S. Embassy in Ukraine calls on Russia to leave Crimea

September 21, 2020

On Monday, September 21, International Day of Peace, the US Embassy in Ukraine called on the Russian Federation to end the conflict in the Donbas, as well as to leave the occupied Crimea. This is reported by the US Charge d’Affaires in Ukraine Christina Queen.

“On the International Day of Peace, we call on Russia to make a choice in favor of peace. Ukrainians, like people around the world, want to live their lives in peace and with full recognition of their human rights. Until Russia ends the conflict that it provoked and supports in the Donbas, and will not completely leave the Donbas and Crimea, Ukrainians cannot live in peace they deserve. Russia must also release all Ukrainians whom it illegally imprisoned as punishment for their peaceful struggle”,- she said.

Christina Queen stressed that the United States of America remain fully committed to diplomatic efforts to end the Russian-created conflict in eastern Ukraine and the occupation of Crimea. The United States continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
