The Crimean Tatar Resource Center presents an analysis of human rights violations in the occupied Crimea over August 2020. According to the organization, during the reporting period, Russian security forces conducted 5 searches, 9 arrests and 7 interrogations, interviews and “conversations”. The total number of arrests in August is 12, of which 11 are against representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. 18 cases of violation of the right to a fair trial were recorded, 16 of which were against the Crimean Tatars. There are 11 known cases of violation of the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health. Also, 3 cases of transfer of political prisoners of Crimea were recorded. The CTRC report also contains information about the destruction of the Crimean ecosystem, about inadequate conditions of detention in pre-trial detention centers and prisons, about the violation of the rights of political prisoners and illegal military exercises in the occupied Crimea.
