On Monday, September 7, despite the spread of coronavirus infection, another illegal military exercise took place in the occupied Crimea. More than 20 units of operational-tactical aviation of the Southern Military District were transferred to operational airfields on the territory of neighboring Russia and the occupied Crimea. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry.
“More than 20 units of operational-tactical aviation of the Southern Military District have been deployed to operational airfields in Stavropol, Kuban, Rostov region of North Ossetia, Sevastopol and Crimea according to the plan of a large-scale exercise in aviation and air defense management”,- the message said.
It is noted that at different stages of the drawing of tactical episodes, more than 80 aircraft and more than 60 helicopters will be involved.
We remind that military exercises, propaganda of military service and conscription into the ranks of the armed forces of the Russian Federation are regularly held in the occupied Crimea. The Russian military exercises are destroying the ecosystem of the peninsula and are a flagrant violation of international law.
Earlier, NATO in its statement on Crimea condemned Russia's ongoing large-scale military build-up in Crimea and expressed concern over Russia's efforts and announced plans to further build up military power in the Black Sea region.
