Zelensky has every opportunity to launch offensive on Crimea – Turchynov

August 25, 2020

Former Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov in a commentary to the Radio Freedom media agency said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has every opportunity, unlike in 2014, to launch offensive on Crimea. However, according to the politician, Zelensky’s so-called agreement with Russia will prevent this from happening.

The chairman of the headquarters of the European Solidarity political party reacted sharply to Zelensky's statement on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day that those who “gave away part of Ukraine without a fight” should testify.

“Many people are involved in this, starting with Yanukovych and those who destroyed the defense capability of our country. But, unfortunately, they will not be interrogated. They will try to interrogate those who oppose this government today. But Mr. Zelensky has every opportunity, unlike in 2014, to launch offensive on Crimea, and we are ready to help him in this. But, unfortunately, I am afraid that the so-called agreement with Russia is much more important for him than the protection of the Ukrainian land”,- Turchynov said.
