The loss is heavy and irreparable – political prisoner Ruslan Suleymanov about the death of his son

August 5, 2020

The defendant in the so-called second Hizb ut-Tahrir case in Simferopol, Ruslan Suleymanov, wrote a letter from the pre-trial detention center, in which he expressed his sincere gratitude to all those who were not indifferent, who helped in the search for his son and showed their solidarity at a difficult hour. The text of the letter was published by the Crimean Solidarity media agency.

“Until the last moment I hoped that my son was about to be found safe and sound. In every news bulletin, when the dangerous search sites were closed, my hope grew stronger. But something that was inevitable happened. Yes, Musa was in our family for three years – not for long , but I am grateful to the Almighty with all my heart for giving us such a radiant son”,- the letter says.

The political prisoner shared that the loss is heavy and irreparable, but once again the public showed its solidarity at a difficult hour.

“What I went through during two days of searching for my son – I felt what parents, whose children are missing, are going through every day, and they hope that they are about to return. I ask the Almighty that all the missing children return to families”,- he added.

We remind that on July 24, 2020, Musa Suleymanov, a three-year-old Crimean Tatar, disappeared in the village of Strohonivka in the Simferopol region of the occupied Crimea. The child played near the house with his older sister and was left unattended for 10-15 minutes, because his mother-in-law called his mother. On July 26, 2020, after a day and a half of active searches, the boy's body was found in a cesspool near the house.
