Finland and Ukraine discussed the importance of expanding sanctions against Russia

Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Anton Korynevych and his deputies Daria Svyrydova and Tamila Tasheva met with the Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine Päivi Maarit Laine and the Second Secretary for Political Affairs of the Embassy of Finland in Ukraine Aaro Iulitalo, during which they discussed the situation with human rights violations in the occupied Crimea. The interlocutors also discussed the preservation and expansion of sanctions against the Russian Federation. The press service of the department reported about this.

“Within the framework of the meeting, in addition to issues related to human rights violations, the issues of the militarization of Crimea and the Black Sea region, the gradual colonization of the peninsula with population replacement, the observance of the rights of the children and the crimes of the Russian Federation in attracting children to paramilitary formations, illegal conscription into the Russian army, were also discussed as well as harm to the environment, violations against the Ukrainian Church, violations of the rights of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people”,- the message says.

In addition, an important component of the meetings was also dedicated to the issues of the sanctions regime, the preservation of the vector of expansion of sanctions on the part of Ukraine's partners, as well as the consistent policy of non-recognition, as defined by the UN General Assembly Resolution in March 2014.
