Consuls will visit 19 Ukrainian political prisoners in the Russian SIZO – Malyshevsky

Consul General in Rostov-on-Don Taras Malyshevsky said that a number of consular meetings with 19 Ukrainian political prisoners will take place this week. The consuls will check the conditions of their detention and their health. It is reported by the Hromadske Radio media agency.

“We will visit our citizens, who are groundlessly accused of terrorism by Russia, from among the Alushta, Bilohirsk, second Bakhchisaray, Krasnohvardiiske groups of Hizb ut-Tahrir. As well as Oleh Prykhodko from the city of Saky, for whose pro-Ukrainian views the FSB fabricated a case of preparing a terrorist attack”,- he said.

The consuls will check the conditions of detention and the state of health of political prisoners, feedback on the work of lawyers, as well as share news from their homeland, bring letters from relatives and convey congratulations on Qurban-Bairam to the Crimean Tatars.

“My colleagues and I will have the opportunity to talk about the work of the International Advocacy Platform for the Release of Political Prisoners, restored at the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the next steps of the state authorities involved in this difficult process. All prisoners will be provided with material assistance by the Consulate General”,- he added.
