July 28, 2020

On Monday, July 27, as part of the investigation, lawyer Nikolai Polozov met with political prisoner Ivan Yatskin, who is accused of alleged high treason in the form of espionage. The man thanked the consuls of Ukraine for the material support, with the help of which he can order things necessary for prison life. The defender announced this via his Facebook page.

“In the Lefortovo pre-trial detention center, a mask regime is still in effect. Protective masks are issued every day. It turns out that they are not disposable, but one-day. Once a week, the camera is treated with some solution. The temperature is occasionally measured”,- the lawyer said.

It is noted that the delay of letters remains a big problem, as they arrive with a delay of 2-3 weeks. In addition, according to the inventory, at least three letters were lost.

“Special gratitude from him is expressed to the consuls of Ukraine for material support. Thanks to it, he can order things necessary for prison life in the prison stall. Ivan also hopes that his statement, which he sent to the Office of the President of Ukraine, will not get lost and he will be included in exchange list”,- added the defender.

We remind that in early December 2019, Russian security forces in the occupied Crimea detained a resident of Simferopol, Ivan Yatskin, on charges of alleged high treason. Subsequently, the man was transferred to Moscow. He was arrested until March 16, 2020. Ivan Yatskin's lawyer, Nikolai Polozov, signed a non-disclosure agreement in the so-called case.
