“This morning it is still training, and tomorrow morning – the beginning of aggression” – Krivonos

July 27, 2020

Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhiy Krivonos said in an interview with Krym.Realii that military exercises in the occupied Crimea could enter the active phase of hostilities, since the headquarters and the mobilization base have already been prepared.

“When the headquarters and the mobilization base are prepared, and they are already prepared in Crimea, this potential under the guise of reservists can first arrive for training, and training can go into the active phase of hostilities, this happens very quickly. This morning it is still training, and tomorrow morning this is the beginning of aggression,"-he said.

At the same time, Krivonos emphasized that the General Staff of Ukraine had already worked out all possible threats. Troops are also trained  to counter, but incase of aggression, Ukraine should rely primarily on its own forces.

"We must clearly understand that we are alone on the field and we do not have many countries that support us. We are supported by the Baltic countries, Poland, because they understand the threat posed by Russia, and they understand that we are now their allies – we must be supported. We are supported by Great Britain, which understands such a threat from Russia, the United States, Canada and Japan. Other European countries are dancing under Russia's tune,"-Krivonos explained.
