50 Ukrainian citizens prosecuted for participation in Noman Chelebidzhikhan battalion

Since 2014, the Crimean Tatar Resource Centre has recorded at least 50 detentions on charges of participation in the Noman Celebidzhikhan Battalion: 19 in  the occupied Crimea, 31 in the occupied Kherson region after 24 February 2022.

Detained in the occupied Crimea were:

  3. Edem Kadyrov (sentence – 31 May 2019)
  4. Aidyn Mamutov (sentence – 22 April 2019)
  5. Nariman Mezhmedinov (sentence – 20 June 2020)
  6. Medzhit Ablyamitov (sentence – 24 March 2021)
  7. Ibraim Asanov (detained – 17 January 2023)
  8. 25 January 2023 a resident of Sevastopol
  9. 2 February 2023 a resident of Sevastopol
  10. 13 March 2023 a 39-year-old man in Crimea
  11. 14 April 2023 a  Crimean Tatar in Crimea
  12. 14 April 2023 Crimean Tatar in Crimea
  13. 30 May 2023 a 23-year-old Crimean man
  14. 30 May 2023 a 24-year-old Crimean man

  19. In September, a Crimean resident Nariman Derman was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months.

During the period of full-scale war in Ukraine, we recorded 31 arrests of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in the occupied Kherson region:

    1. On 4 March 2022, Nasrulla Seidaliev, a resident of Rykovo settlement, deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, was arrested.
    2. On 31 March 2022, Rustem Gugurik, a resident of Novoalekseevka, was arrested.
    3. On 9 April 2022, Arsen Ibraimov, a resident of Kherson, was arrested.
    4. On 11 April 2022, Genichesk resident Artur Memetshaev was arrested.
    5. On 14 April 2022, Crimean Tatar Rustem Osmanov was arrested.
    6. On 20 May 2022, Ruslan Abdurakhmanov, a resident of Azovskoye village, was arrested.
    7. On 25 May 2022, a resident of Partizany village, Genichesk district, Ruslan Abdurakhmanov was arrested. Aider Umerov, a resident of Partizany village, Genichesk district, was arrested.
    8. On 5 June 2022, Memet Dolgopolov, a resident of Kherson region, was arrested.
    9. On 18 June 2022, Konstantin Tereshchenko, a resident of Novoalekseevka village, Kherson region, was arrested.
    10. On 21 July 2022, a resident of the village of Salkovo, Genichesk district, Ihor Igoshenko, was arrested. Salkovo village of  Genichesk  district Igor Khalilov was arrested.
    11. On 22 July 2022, a resident of Genichesk, Oleksiy Kiselev, was arrested.
    12. In July 2022, a resident of Novoalekseevka, Sergey Gudym, was arrested.
    13. On 12 August 2022, a resident of Genichesk, Crimean Tatar Akim Gafarov was arrested.
    14. In August 2022, a resident of Kherson region, Crimean Tatar Khalil Ametov was arrested.
    15. In August 2022, Mamed Mustafayev, a Crimean Tatar resident of Kherson region, was arrested.
    16. On 16 March 2023, Crimean Tatar Rustem Virati was arrested in Novoalekseevka.
    17. On 25 May 2023, Arsen Memetshayev, a local resident in Kherson region, was arrested.
    18. On 25 May 2023, Ablyamed Memetshayev, a local resident in the Kherson region, was arrested.

    20. On 25 July 2023, a resident of the village of Semihatki, Genichesk district, Eskender Audzhi, was arrested. Semihatki village, Genichesk district Eskender Audzhi.
    21. On 4 September 2023, Nariman Ablyazov was arrested in Genichesk.
    22. On 1 November 2023, Khalil Kurtametov, a Crimean Tatar resident of Novoalekseevka, was arrested.
    23. On 8 December 2023, a resident of the village of Shchastlivtsevo, Genichesk, was arrested. Rustem Mevlutov, a resident of Shchastlivtsevo village, Genichesk district.
    24. In January 2024, Amina Kadyrova was arrested.
    25. On 7 March 2024 in Kherson region occupants arrested Gennady Osmak.
    26. On 11 March 2024, a 55-year-old Crimean Tatar was arrested in Genichesk, Kherson region (details of the detainee are being clarified).
    27. On 27 March 2024, a resident of the village of Rykovo, Kherson region, was arrested. Bilyal Abdurakhmanov was arrested in Rykovo village, Kherson region.
    28. On 17 April 2024, a 66-year-old resident of Novoalekseevka village was arrested (details of the detainee are being clarified).
    29. On 1 July 2024, a resident of Genichesk district was arrested (details of the detainee are being clarified).
    30. On 18 July 2024, a resident of Genichesk district was arrested (the data of the detainee are specified).
    31. In September, Huseyn Huseynov, a resident of Genichesk, was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months.

All these people are accused of participation in the volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan.

We shall remind you that on 1 June 2022, the Supreme Court of Russia satisfied the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General’s Office to recognize the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan as a terrorist organisation and ban its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
