5 years for failure to appear at the draft board: mobilization continues in the russian federation

Unauthorized abandonment of the unit or failure to appear after being summoned in the russian federation will be considered evasion from mobilization, for which up to five years in prison can be threatened. This was reported by the chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Kartapolov.

In addition, Putin signed laws that make conscripts eligible for military service between the ages of 18 and 30 and that prohibit conscripts from leaving Russia from the day they send the summons until they turn up at the military registration and enlistment office.
