The interlocutors discussed the unpleasant incident that occurred, its causes and ways to prevent a similar situation in the future. The schoolchildren sincerely apologized to the Crimean Tatar people, and members of the Mejlis, in turn, donated books on the history of Crimea and the Crimean Tatar people to the school library fund.

“When I saw the video, on the one hand, I was upset that children allow themselves such statements that offend the whole nation. After all, I wanted to see a new generation that grew up in a democratic country with European values during so many years of the formation and development of our state. age, we did everything to make Ukraine a free and independent country. But on the other hand, this situation made me angry, because it is more connected with the problem of our system, our society”,- said the head of the board of the Crimean Tatar Resource Center Eskender Bariiev.

Bariiev explained that children are an indicator and a reflection of our society. That is why it is necessary to pay more attention to the problems associated with the systematic approach, with the methodology of delivering information about the history of Crimea, about the history of the Crimean Tatars.

In addition, the member of the Mejlis stressed that the reason for this situation was also the fact that in our country the issues related to ethno-national policy and with indigenous peoples have not yet been regulated at the legislative level, on which it is necessary to work with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry culture and other competent authorities of Ukraine.

During his speech, Bariiev called on young people to an active public life, in particular, to take part in the Camp of Freedom and the Academy of Public Diplomacy, organized by the CTRC.

“This is necessary so that we can jointly contribute to the further development of the Ukrainian state, in which they will never have a negative attitude towards any ethnic group”,- he stressed.
