Verkhovna Rada calls on the international community to condemn the Russian referendum in Crimea

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a statement, according to which it called on members of parliaments of foreign states and international parliamentary organizations to condemn the illegal all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in the occupied Crimea.

“The Verkhovna Rada appeals to the members of parliaments of foreign states and international parliamentary organizations, to give a fundamental assessment of the illegal actions of the Russian Federation to organize and conduct a nationwide referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol”,- the message says.

In addition, the Verkhovna Rada calls on democratic countries of the world to continue and strengthen international political and economic pressure on the Russian Federation in order to restore the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
