Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Iurii Klimenko, said during his speech in Geneva that Russia continues to abuse its anti-extremist legislation to perpetuate the atmosphere of fear in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
“Russia abuses its anti-extremist legislation and conducts political and religiously motivated show trials against civic activists, including Crimean Tatars, to perpetuate the atmosphere of fear in the temporarily occupied Crimea”,- Klimenko said.
Also, the Ukrainian delegation called on Russia to fulfill its international obligations, including the order of the International Court of Justice and to stop its illegal actions against Crimean Tatars, ethnic Ukrainians and everyone else who oppose repressive Russian policies.
